Mosquito Protection
Mosquito Nets
Keep windows and doors open for airflow, without letting mosquitoes and insects in.
What is Mosquito Nets?
Mosquito nets are fine mesh screens, commonly made from Netlon or similar insect-mesh material, fitted to windows and doors. They allow air to pass through while blocking mosquitoes and other insects from entering the room. Window nets are commonly fitted as a sliding panel, a roller (rolling up and down), a fixed panel, a velcro-attached panel, or an openable hinged frame. Door nets are commonly fitted as a hinged, magnetic or dedicated main-door mesh, or as the pleated/roll-up styles covered on our dedicated page.

Mosquito Nets FAQs
What is a Netlon mosquito net?
Netlon refers to a widely used mesh material for insect screens, fitted to windows and doors so air can pass through while mosquitoes and insects are kept out.
Can mosquito nets be fitted to any window?
Mosquito nets can generally be fitted to most standard window types — sliding, roller, fixed, velcro and openable/hinged mountings are all available. We assess your window during a site visit to recommend the most suitable fitting.
Are mosquito nets available for doors as well as windows?
Yes, we fit mosquito nets for both windows and doors, including hinged, magnetic and dedicated main-door nets.
What is an openable mosquito net?
An openable mosquito net is mounted on a hinged frame that swings open like a small door, which suits windows or openings where you occasionally need full, unobstructed access.
What is a magnetic mosquito net?
A magnetic mosquito net is a mesh curtain held closed by a magnetic strip running down the centre. You can walk straight through it and it closes itself behind you, which suits doorways that are used frequently.
What is the difference between a sliding net and a roller net?
A sliding net is a mesh panel that moves side to side within a track, similar to a sliding door, while a roller net rolls up and down vertically, similar in principle to a roller blind.
Is a main door mosquito net different from a regular door net?
A main door net is fitted specifically for a home's main entrance, where the door is used many times a day, so the mesh and frame are matched to that frequency of use. We can advise on the right fit during measurement.
What is the difference between a Netlon net and a pleated net?
A basic Netlon or mesh net is typically a fixed, sliding or hinged screen, while a pleated net folds like an accordion and can be opened or closed as needed. See our pleated/roll-up nets page for details.
Do mosquito nets reduce airflow?
The mesh is designed to allow air through while blocking insects, so airflow is maintained, though the exact effect can vary slightly with mesh type.
How are mosquito nets cleaned?
Mesh screens can generally be dusted or wiped down with a soft cloth or vacuum brush attachment to keep them clear of dust build-up.
Can mosquito nets be installed in old or existing window frames?
In many cases mosquito nets can be fitted to existing frames; we assess this during the site visit and advise if any adjustment is needed.
Are mosquito nets suitable for commercial spaces?
Yes, we install mosquito nets in offices, clinics, shops and other commercial spaces, in addition to homes.
How is a mosquito net measured?
We visit your location to measure the exact window or door dimensions before fitting the net, ensuring a proper fit.
